White Crystal or powder. Odorless and tasteless. d 2.27. Hygroscopic. Almost insoluble in cold water, insoluble in liquid ammonia and alcohol, soluble in hydrochloric acid. The heat is decomposed into potassium fluoride and silicon tetrafluoride. Dissolved in hot water and decomposed into potassium fluoride, hydrogen fluoride and silicic acid. The aqueous solution is acidic. 1% of the aqueous solution has a pH of 3.4.

The double decomposition of fluorosilicic acid solution and a certain concentration of potassium chloride or potassium sulfate solution at 70~80 ℃, after the reaction is completed, the product silica and potassium fluorosilicate are separated, dried, after crushing, the final product of potassium fluosilicate was obtained. Alternatively, potassium fluorosilicate is prepared by neutralizing fluorosilicic acid with potassium carbonate or potassium hydroxide.
